Process

Technology has advanced a ton, but the whole photography process depends heavily on the photo that you start off with. True, the photo could be taken in a dark setting or the color may not pop up all the way, but the subject that steals the show or draws your eye has to look cool. The photo has to be taken with a tripod and a DSLR and most importantly it has to be high resolution. Students traveled far from school to capture the landscape that they were proud of. For many students, there were many trips and almost final photos. Each time they hoped to correct their past mistakes and capture their dream shot.

On the flip side, every photo can become better with some photoshop. For some people that might mean turning up the vibrancy and saturation all the way while for other, they might want a "natural" look. It all depends on the creator. Also, some people had to denoise their photo and fix a few pixels. Our landscape collection offers a wide range of locations and themes, as it was made by a diverse group of students with different ideas of perfect.

The display of photos is just as important. We choose to print our photos on metallic paper because it brings out the colors. The metal adds gleam and luster subtly to the photo making it look natural and stunning. Our photos are also printed with quality ink.

After thinking about many different methods of displaying our photos, we decided on using Epoxy coating. (For the chemistry behind the Epoxy visit here. )First, the Epoxy has to be mixed with the hardened at the right amount or else the Epoxy will dry too fast or the ending consistency will be too hard or soft. Then the Epoxy has to be spread. But wait, the process does not end there! Little bubbles arise and they disappear with heat. When the Epoxy dries, it creates a hard, transparent, yet glossy finishing that is resilient as well as stunning.
